Bread For Christmas?

First, let me start out by saying that a friend of mine gave me her bread machine. She received it as a gift and is not really into making homemade bread. Well, I'm REALLY into making homemade bread and now I know just what to give out for Christmas gifts this year. Beau and I have pretty big families and lots of great friends and what would be nicer than for them to receive a loaf of fresh-baked bread for Christmas? That will be a couple of LONG nights for me to bake all that bread, but I enjoy giving and receiving freshly baked bread and think that it will make a great gift. I can't wait! By-the-way, I've been having lots of fun with my new bread machine. Every night I've made a different loaf of bread to go with dinner. I'm really looking forward to making breakfast breads too. I'm gonna start out by making a cinnamon raisin bread.

  1. That is awesome!! I can't wait to go get a bread maker,It's definitely necessary now!!

  2. oh sweets, thanks for welcoming me back :) That was so sweet of you! Made my day, thanks ever so much! Oh girl, that is a wonderful idea. I am going to make more gifts this year and I had not thought of bread other then like banana breads or cinnamon breads... Do you not so LOVE your bread machine? enjoy it!!!!

  3. You will LOVE making your own bread!! I like to use my bread-maker to do the 'heavy lifting' ~ I set it on 'Dough' & then do my last rising & bake my bread in a loaf pan.

    Blessings from Ohio...Kim<><

  4. Alonna, you would really love a bread machine.

Mrs. A, I'm so glad that you're back! I just made a cinnamon raisin bread and it turned out awesome!

Kim, I accidentally unplugged my bread machine while it was making dough so I had to take it out and let it rise and bake it in the oven and it came out perfect. I think I'll do it that way all the time. You had a terrific idea!

  5. We have a bread machine but haven't used it for awhile. However, there was a time when hubby was going nuts making sourdough bread or wheat bread! We really need to break it out again, thanks for the encouragement!
